Whatever type of business you have, winning and retaining client’s matters. The best clients are the repeat clients because they ensure that there is ongoing work while finding new ones is sometimes difficult.
Client turnover is a challenge. It means that you can find the clients but can’t keep them. This ultimately shows three possible scenarios.
- You have a cost problem
- You have a performance problem
- The client doesn’t need your services anymore
These can be easily addressed if you can control these three.
Here are 3 actionable ways to retain your best clients, and get new ones as well.
- Focus on solving the client’s problem first, then your services and products second
Once you know what your client’s problems are then you can create solutions that will address these problems. Give value to your customers and be honest about what you can offer. Talk to your existing customers on what difficulties or challenges they are experiencing right now and learn how you can be of help.
- Control your cost
Make sure your customer gets the best bank for their buck. By controlling cost, you will be able to keep a project in your customer’s budget and still be profitable. This will boost your customer’s perception of how you manage projects and is more likely to result in repeat business.
- Understate and over perform
Going above and beyond is the best way to get your clients attention. Always understate your services and manage your client’s expectations well, then over perform. By doing this you will be able to exceed your client’s expectations and get great reviews. BUT don’t understate your abilities, otherwise, you will lose the client.
