| IDF Capital together with BWASA is excited to invite female entrepreneurs who are operating businesses that have potential for significant scale and seeking to raise growth capital to participate in a full-day intensive scale-up clinic especially curated for growth ready enterprises. Interested participants must have a sound performance track record of at least two years and must be generating consistent and growing revenue.
The full-day clinic will be held in Sandton, Johannesburg on the 20th February 2020.
IDF Capital through Alitheia IDF Fund mandate is seeking to invest in and support high growth SMEs with a focus on women-owned/led businesses, with the objective of:
- Strengthening and increasing the participation of women-owned businesses, women in business, and women in the supply chain across economies on the African continent;
- Providing non-financial support to the investee companies to enable them to grow into self- sustaining and profitable businesses with expanded market reach; and
- Developing local economic activity that benefits local communities, and involves substantial participation by local enterprises
Alitheia IDF Fund is open to receiving investment applications from enterprises operating in all sectors. The businesses to be considered for investment will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Must be operating in any of the following countries: South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria or Ghana;
- Qualify as small or medium-sized enterprise – meet any 2 (two) of the following 3 (three) criteria: less than 250 (two hundred and fifty) employees; total value of assets of less than $10million (R145m); and/or total annual turnover of less than $10million (R145m);
- Commercially viable with an operational track record of at least 2 (two) years and proven revenues;
- Have significant participation of women in their business as either owners, managers, producers, distributors or consumers;
- Have owners that are operationally involved in the business;
- Seeking growth capital of US$2 million (R29m) to US$5 million (R72.5m);
- Strong and committed management team with relevant experience, qualifications and ability to execute the business plan; and
- Possess the potential to deliver developmental impact in terms of jobs created, increased and sustained incomes for low-income households and for women in particular; and increased tax generation.
